Touchstone House is located in the historically preserved village of Livadia, a cluster of century-old homes and farms, that unfold behind Paraporti beach, next to the buzzing town of Chora. Nestled in the verdant and gently tiered foothills, amidst cypress and olive trees, the house is one kilometer from both the beach and the well-maintained town, with its marble roads and exquisite mansions, peppered with stylish restaurants and tavernas, outdoor cafés and eclectic shops. Up until a few years ago, Chora was closed off to outsiders. Stately and wealthy from the ancient shipping families that hailed from here, it did not need tourism to flourish. Today it is a private and refined location that welcomes new visitors to share in its magic.

Our wonderful house, lies along the impressive hiking route 17, 17a. A romantic trail leads you to Paraporti beach, or provides a meditative 15 min. walk to town, along the banks of the river, through dreamy and natural landscape, and guides you along with its ancient stone walls, landmark bridges, majestic cypress trees, bright citrus farms and explosively colorful gardens. For a more intense walk, you can follow the trail up to the Panachrantos Monastery, that dates from Byzantium, and sits perched on the mountain behind. Expect to encounter adventures on your way up and perhaps fairies on your way down.
Through a series of challenging restorations, what started out as a 200-year-old, stone farmhouse was gradually transformed into an elegant summer home.
